Access

Access

Key to the City uses a number of public and private sites across the city over 10 weeks. This means there are some variable elements that we cannot control, for example we cannot say at any one time how busy a specific site might be.

We have created a series of symbols that give information about potential access barriers, which appear on the information page about each site on this website. Each page also provides more detailed information and live updates, where necessary.

When you see the following symbols:

Steps icon and the number zero
Stepped access at this site, the number indicates how many steps there are
Door frame icon and the number 32
Doorway or entrance at site is narrower than 32 inches
Angled line icon
Uneven surfaces
White P on black square
Parking on site
Black P in square with black outline
Parking nearby site
Black P in a circle with black outline and cross
No parking on site
Icon showing the side profile of a chair
Site has seating
Sun icon
Site is in the open air
Building icon
Site is indoors
WC icon
Toilets on site
Accessibility icon above WC text
Accessible toilets on site
Baby icon
Baby changing facilities on site

If you experience access barriers while engaging with this project please let us know, so we can try to improve and / or update other people: keytothecity@wearefierce.org
